ACTIVITY:

 *Cpy the following readings; the teacher will give the questions in class:

What did labourers do? When Johnny  was labourer, he  worked on construction sites. He moved materials and equipment. He took down buildings. He cleaned  up construction sites.
What was Brad’s work like?  Brad was a labourer. He worked for a  construction company. He usually  worked on large buildings. He also helped to build roads.  Here was things that Brad did;He loaded and unloaded trucks,He used hand tools. For example, shovels and rakes. He helped to mix, pour and spread cement. He used power tools. For example, an electric drill.He built things at construction  sites. For example, ramps and scaffolding. Construction workers  stood  on scaffolding when they worked  in high places. Scaffolding is often  made of wood and metal. He picked  up garbage at the  construction site.

Security Guards
  
What did security guards do?  When Miguel  was Security guard, he  worked in offices, stores, apartment buildings, airports, hospitals  and other places. He checked inside and  outside buildings. He watched out for  problems. For example, a person may  try to steal something.
What was Al’s work like?  Al worked  shifts. Sometimes he worked  at night. He often worked on  weekends and holidays. Al often worked alone. At night, the building was very quiet. When Al worked during the day, he talked to more people. Sometimes Al had to  call the police or fire  department. His job could be stressful if there were serious problems. Al sometimes  felt worried.  Al worked indoors and outdoors. He stood  and walked a lot. He wore a uniform.
